Hi, I’m Louisa.

An experienced technical educator with a background in design and development, creating experiences for people is what I love to do. Through a screen, in spaces, or within a community, I am passionate about bringing opportunity to others.

Engagement through education

At the end of the day, I just love building things. My professional experience has afforded me the opportunity to create experiences for people in diverse and evolving ways.

  • I started my career in print design and quickly shifted to the world of environmental and exhibit design. A strong interest in visitor and user experience drew me to software development, and I spent a number of years working as a developer on engineering teams.

  • I have found there to be many parallels in strategy between designing for users and teaching learners. My interest in teaching came from the wonderfully supportive communities I had the pleasure to work with closely in Colorado, and from my first leading a technical workshop, I was hooked.

Supporting students also extends towards team coaching and advancement, and I have built and led instructional teams as well as non-profit volunteer groups.

  • My own career has been hugely impacted by tech and design communities, both formal and informal. Paying forward the support and opportunity that those around me have generously shared is important to me, and I am honored to have been able to be deeply involved with a number of impactful non-profit organizations at a leadership level.

Say hello!

I’m always happy to hear from friends, new and old.
